Deogarh Tourism is a small town situated in Rajsamand District in the west Indian state of Rajasthan. Deogarh, a town with a splendid historical history. It was a feudal estate in Mewar and Deogarh’s chief, ‘The Rawat,’ was one of seventeen umraos (feudal barons) entitled to wait for Udaipur’s Maharana, Mewar’s capital. The estates of the chieftains were called thikanas. On the border of Marwar, Mewar and Merwara, 280 kms south-west of Jaipur and 135 kms north-east of Udaipur lies Deogarh, one such thikana.
The feudal estates, called ‘Thikanas,’ were granted to a nobleman either because of a blood bond or for an act of bravery by the ruling Maharana. Also famous for the miniature painting school, Deogarh Tourism.
