Fast paced action to a little more staid activity is available all over Rajasthan. The bewitching sights with an equally thrilling sports activity promise an enthralling and unforgettable experience.

Ballooning: The Ballooning Club of India organises an International Hot Air Balloon Mela in November every year which is an eagerly awaited event for balloonist the world over.

Camel Safari: The people of the desert have been using the camel for years now; sometimes it is their only means to transport and no man can think of surviving in the That desert without the hardy camel. Started some years ago, the camel safari takes the tourist through the villages of Shekhawati where there is ample opportunity to gain the first hand experience of the rustic environ, admire the real Rajasthan and mingle with the local villagers. Other areas covered by the camel safari are Nagaur to Pushkar and Bikaner to Jaisalmer. As the routes are long, the ride can be quite exhausting but the thrill of this safari has made it quite popular with the tourists.

Horse Safari: Sturdy, well-maintained horses are nothing new to the visitor but few could have taken such long trips on horse-backs. The present tours are conducted from Kunbhalgarh to Jodhpur and Sawarda to Pushkar. There are breaks for refreshments, there are bonfires and entirement provided by folk entertainers on the way. A tiring but exhilarating experience. New routes are being added to the existing ones.

Trekking and Rock Climbing: The Aravallis in all their different moods provide excellent trekking and rock climbing activities. Mount Abu and Kumbhalgarh are two popular spots where the trekker can let himself go. The chance to study the flora and fauna, animals and bird life and get away from the usual crowded tourist sports attracts countless trekkers.

Hang Gliding: Still in its infancy but fast gaining popularity, this sport is restricted to the experienced. Ideal spots for this adventurous indulgence have been demarcated in Jaipur and Harsh in Sikar district.

Cycling and Motor Cycling: Alwar to Deeg, Bhartpur to Shrimadhopur and from Jaipur to the interior of Shekhawati, cycle tours are ideal for the visitor on a limited budget.

Fishing: The Hadoti and Mewar region of Rajasthan is rich in rivers and lakes. Fishing is now permitted in most of these areas and are a paradise for anglers.

Boat Rides: Wherever there is a safe body of water, there are boats to give the visitors rides on them. In Kota, a very old boat pertaining to the British days is still in very good condition and used to take people down the Chambal.

House Boats: Arrangements are now on to float these luxury homes in lakes in Udaipur, Siliserh and Jaisamand. The visitor will be able to enjoy the luxury of a five-star hotel on water which will be an unusual and rewarding experience.

Para Sailing and Water Skiing: Not quite known for its water sports, Rajasthan is now gearing to put its lakes and rivers to good use by introducing several water sports here. The lakes at Ramgarh, Bundi, Udaipur and Kota have already started providing facilities for varied aquatic sports.
